  • Flexible addon Available in Blender!

If you have Blender, it is possible for you to buy and download the SoftWrap plugin.
Softwrap will allow you to work in real-time on your wrap by adding snap points little by little. It works on smooth simulation (like the Maya Ncloth) that you can soften and control at your ease.

Prepare and Simulate

1. Go to file/import and import both your target mesh and your source mesh. Make sure your source mesh shares the same coordinates as your target.

2. Select your source mesh and switch to the wire edge display.

3. switch to face selection in object mode and select a face in your sockets. Press Shift+. to grow the selection. Then, delete your selection.

4. Click n to enable the side menu and select the Softwrap panel. Enter both your source mesh and your target mesh to start the simulation.
5. Click on Start. Your source mesh will wrap by simulation. You can activate "In front" to display it.

6. The first method to adjust the wrap is simply to move the point by clicking on the different default spots.

7. The second and complementary method is to add snapping points on your target mesh. You can add it with shift + click on the different strategic spots. Be particularly focused on the eyes socket and the ears.

Parameters to know

1. You can move your source mesh and fit it with more or less weight with the mouse size.

2. Your wrap and the quads of the source mesh will have more or less adherence with the smoothing slider.
    3. You can let more or less ballast on your wrap with the snapping strength.
      4. Finally, you can add more or less weight to your pins in order to attach your source mesh with more strength, with the Pin force

          Finalize

          1. Softwrap will import your result as a blend shape, hence you can control the weight of the wrap.

            2. Once you are happy with your wrap, you'll just have to go to File/export to export your new base mesh!

            💡 Tip
It is preferable that both your source mesh and target mesh have the same level of subdivisions. If your source mesh is more subdivided, you may experience some overflows.

Now, you're ready to bake your textures!
